While the Supreme Court has upheld the travel ban, Stanford remains committed to welcoming students and scholars from all over the world.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, Dec. 4, allowed the third version of the federal administration's travel ban to take effect while legal challenges to it continue to be heard by the courts. The Bechtel International Center stands ready to assist students and scholars who have questions or need assistance.

Federal judges have temporarily halted implementation of most of the newest travel ban. Students and scholars who have questions or need assistance should continue to contact the Bechtel International Center.

Stanford continues to offer assistance to students and scholars with questions and concerns about the updated travel ban announced by the federal administration on Sunday, Sept. 24.

Stanford joined other universities in an amicus brief challenging the executive order travel ban in a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The U.S. Supreme Court announced that it will review the federal travel ban executive order affecting nationals of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Until its review this fall, the Court allowed some aspects of the travel ban to be implemented. Stanford continues to stand in full support of its international and immigrant communities.
